About the Company
“Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi” JSC was established on December 23, 2010, and operates one of the world-class strategic coal deposits located in Umnugovi province, approximately 250 km from the Mongolia–China border. In line with the goal of equitably distributing natural resource wealth to citizens, in 2012 the company granted 1,072 shares to 2.5 million Mongolian citizens.
Reserves and Shareholding
Through phased geological and exploration work, the company increased its reserves by 29%, and in 2024 updated its total coal reserves to 8.1 billion tons. The company has a total of 12 billion shares, of which 73.5% are held by the state, 26.4% by citizens, and 0.1% by business entities. Its Board of Directors consists of 5 state representatives and 4 independent members.
